Gill Knight

Pro Vice Chancellor - Academic leadership and Student Experience at the University of Wolverhampton

Gill Knight is currently the Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Wolverhampton, overseeing the University’s three faculties and student experience. Her role focuses on enhancing student outcomes and delivering an excellent and inclusive educational experience. Gill's current initiatives include early prevention strategies tailored to key aspects of the student journey. Before Wolverhampton, she served as the Director of Education at Royal Holloway and as Associate Dean in Education at Aston University. A Professor in STEM Education, National Teaching Fellow, and Principal Fellow of the HEA, Gill’s pedagogic research focuses on inclusive education. Her recent publications cover student transition, student co-creation, and academic advising, alongside her extensive research in human health and virology.

Alessia Gagliardi

Student at Royal Holloway University of London

Alessia Gagliardi recently graduated with a first-class degree in History of Art and Visual Culture and Comparative Literature and Culture from Royal Holloway. She is continuing her studies at Royal Holloway with a Masters by Research, focusing on Renaissance and Surrealism. Alessia has worked as a Student Ambassador for two years and is passionate about enhancing the university experience for other students. She has collaborated on a Student Engagement Project, leading focus groups to improve student engagement at Royal Holloway.
