Unitu Webinar Series

Capturing student feedback through Design Thinking

Event Overview

Design practices, mindset and tools offer new possibilities for capturing feedback and solving innovation challenges in Higher Education.

Unsurprisingly, Jisc named design thinking as one of the key capabilities for an HE leader in their 2030 strategy framework. Drawn from the business and digital realms, design thinking is highly relevant to the complexity and uncertainty brought about by the accelerated levels of innovation and change in HE. The student experience community is standing at the crossroads. We either fall back to the ‘familiar’ tools and ways of thinking or collectively explore the opportunities, new language, and methods of capturing feedback and engaging students in co-creation.

During this interactive session led by Dr Bo Kelestyn, Associate Professor at Warwick, you will be guided through the fundamentals of design thinking with opportunities to reflect on how it can be used for student engagement and co-creation in your work and institution. You will also hear from Bo about her experience implementing design thinking at Warwick and beyond. By the event’s end, you will understand what design thinking entails and how you can start using it for co-creation with your community.

Who is this event aimed at?

Directors of Student Experience, Directors of Education/T&L, Directors of Undergraduate Studies, WIHEA Student Fellows, SSLC Chairs and Secretaries, Academic Societies Exec
